Mitosis is the process that involves?
Mitosis is a replicative cell division involving one nuclear division that involves 5 stages that forms two genetically identical daughter cells. Mitosis has 5 stages. Prophase where the nucelus and nucleolus disappear and the mitotic spindle begins to form and the centrioles move to opposite poles of the cell. Metaphase, where the sister chromatids line up along the middle fo the cell as they get ready to split apart. Anaphase, where the sister chromatids split apartand move to opposing poles in the cell. Telophase, where the nuclei form for the cells and the chromatin begins to uncoil. Lastly, Cytokinesis, where the cells actually split apart by either the formation of a furrow or a cell plate. The process of mitosis creates many cells which differentiate to form tissues, organs and organ-systems of the organism. Mitosis also results in the increase in size and growth of an organism and is used to form new cells to renew damaged or dead cells. Mitosis only deals with somatic cells and creates only 2 diploid daughter cells during one cycle.
