Vicious cough with brown to blood like properties..?

I went to the doctor on tuesday who said that I have strep without even running any test she prescribed me some strange penicillin that was different than what I had been given before. By thursday it hadn't got any better and it seemed to be much worse so I went to a different doctor who actually did a strep test and a mono one. It came to be the strep test was negative but the mono was positive he said I probably do have strep the antibiotics I had been probably caused it to come up negative. well he prescribed me a different antibiotic and hyrdocodone. It was incredibly difficult to breath and I drooled constantly because my throat was so swollen. Now often times when I feel my throat is the most congested I begin to cough and at times throw up some pretty nasty mucus which tends to be brown and/or contain blood. it doesnt hurt that bad but it is very scary. I apologize for the run on sentences and grammar errors I am very tired and pretty nervous so help is greatly appreciated. =)
