What would be the best guitar?

i really want a guitar to play some songs from Korn and i was wondering which kind of guitar would be best. I asked one of my friends and he told me that if i want to learn electric guitar i shouldnt use an Ac/El, i should just go straight to electric. so thats what im gonna do, but what kind of guitar should i get for Korn and to write my own songs? which on e would be best??
