Is anyone willing to go the mile to stop this GAS TAX?
Its all about money not emissions. The economic recession has reduced the amount that people drive already. In fact $4.00 gas is one of the factors that ran our economy into the ground. Raising the price of fuel is not going to inspire economy. It is just going to drag down our economy by making it more expensive to do business. Until alternative fuels are available for use, raising prices just puts a greater burden on people who have no viable options. The rich will be able to pay the higher taxes and do whatever they want. The poor will have to pay more money to drive to work, get their groceries and take care of their kids. Public transportation doesn't exist everywhere. How is a truck driver going to be able to live if fuel prices are too high to keep working? And since everything is delivered by trucks, higher gas prices means higher prices on everything they haul. All of your food, clothing and medicine will cost more too. An energy tax is an increased tax on everything you use in your life. This will not help anyone and it will hurt everyone.
