Why can't people separate Hitler's economic politics from Hitler's dictatorship?

People can't separate it for the same reason you might not appreciate the many achievements and skills of someone who was stabbing you with a knife. The whole knife-stabbing/genocide aspect sort of overshadows any goodness that might otherwise be apparent.
